 Challenge 5:            Identity

Identity is maybe based in local, national and transnational identity. My identity is more local, because only there are people, who are very important for me and there are many places, which are connected with special feelings.

At the moment a big part of my life is also transnational, because I live abroad and my education is also abroad. I feel a little bit like a cosmopolitan because I like this city and it is not hard for me staying here for a few months.

My national identity grew here in Denmark. The reason is, that it is important for me that people recognize, that I am from Austria and not from Australia or Germany. I want that people know of the cultural differences between Austria and Germany. Here in Denmark, I feel more as and Austrian than at home in Austria.

I don’t feel, that we get one common global identity with globalization. There is a lot of cultural hybrid in the countries, but we also want to keep our own cultural traditions.

Our society is becoming more multicultural, but I don’t think, that we will loose our own traditions. There will be added traditions from other countries.

From February to Mai 2011	UCC University College for Teacher Education Blaagaard/KDAS, Copenhagen, Denmark I took part in the Erasmus programme and had the following courses: Globalization and professional change, Educational, Danish language course, Teaching practise, Art education, Visual culture;
Since October 09 From September 00 to June 05	Private Pädagogische Hochschule der Diözese Linz, Austria I am studying for becoming a teacher for children with special needs. Bundes-Bildungsanstalt für Sozialpädagogik, St. Pölten, Austria I graduated in this school and became a social pedagogue.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

July and September 10	WO Baumgartenberg, Austria Disability assistance (Full-time) Supporting 9 adults with different kinds of disabilities in their everyday life.
From May 07 to September 09 From August 08 to March 09 From October 05 to April 07	Lebenshilfe OÖ Disability assistance (part-time) Supporting 8 adults with different kinds of disabilities in their everyday life. Diakoniewerk Gallneukirchen Personal assistant for people with disabilities (part-time) I supported three adults with different kinds of disabilities in their spare time and in managing the daily routine. Kinderheim St. Benedikt, Vienna
	Social pedagogue (full-time) I worked with a group of twelve children in the age from 3 to 17 years. They were children with special needs. I worked in a team of 6 pedagogues and supported the children in their everyday life.
